1991 – 1st thinking of forming the V-R Society of India was done at a
Meeting held at Willington Club on, 25th August 1991, Sunday at 11:00AM
1991 - Bank account was opened in 1991 at Bank of India, Cumbala Hill Road Branch, Bombay.
1992 - 1st Official meeting of Vitreo Retina Society was held in New Delhi in 1992, prior to golden Jubilee Conference of AIOS.
1993 – Registered as society under the name of “Vitreo-retinal Society –
India”
1993 – 1st Annual Conference to be held at bombay is cancelled due to roits and disturbances in the city.
1995 – Only two mild year V-R Society Conferences held.
1st – October 995 at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai
2nd – September 1996 at Nagpur
1999 – Society came up with the amendments to the constitution and Bye-laws.
2000 – Nataraja Pillai Oration Award has been instituted
2002 – Official Logo of the Society been approved and came in to use
2002 – Dr. J M Pahwa Award has been instituted for the best paper presentation
2005 – Laser Society of India merged with Vitreo Retinal Society of India
2007 – Membership Certificates for all the life members of the Society has been prepared and distributed |
